Childhood Revisited: Is It Possible or Not?

Sofie Meulenaere is an avant-garde Belgian artist who undergoes hypnosis to return to her childhood, and while under hypnosis, makes drawings as her younger self. Her series “Through a Child’s Eyes” includes the piece “Innocent Geometry Nr. 1” (2022), where Meulenaere employs crayons to channel her juvenile essence, creating abstract compositions that capture the simplicity and imagination of youth, while offering a sophisticated reflection on memory and growth.
